सेबी ने अपनी जांच में पाया कि डॉ. जयलक्ष्मी कुमारी, जो ऑडिट कमेटी की सदस्य थीं, ने कंपनी के वित्तीय खुलासों में अनियमितताओं को नजरअंदाज किया। उन्हें सेबी के साथ समझौते के लिए 12.35 लाख रुपये का भुगतान करना पड़ा। साथ ही, सेबी ने उन्हें दो साल तक ब्राइटकॉम ग्रुप या उसकी सहायक कंपनियों के साथ किसी भी तरह के पेशेवर या व्यावसायिक संबंध रखने से रोक दिया है।
के. अनुषा, जो कंपनी की कम्प्लायंस ऑफिसर थीं, ने तिमाही शेयरहोल्डिंग पैटर्न को सही ढंग से स्टॉक एक्सचेंज को प्रस्तुत करने में विफलता दिखाई। उन्होंने इस मामले को सुलझाने के लिए 10.73 लाख रुपये का भुगतान किया।
वी. श्री लक्ष्मी, जो एक अन्य कम्प्लायंस ऑफिसर थीं, पर 10 अप्रैल, 2018 को एक गलत और भ्रामक प्रेस रिलीज जारी करने का आरोप था, जिसमें आंतरिक ऑडिटर की नियुक्ति के बारे में गलत जानकारी दी गई थी। इसके अलावा, उन्होंने भी शेयरहोल्डिंग पैटर्न के सही खुलासे में चूक की। उन्होंने समझौते के लिए 12.32 लाख रुपये का भुगतान किया।

इससे पहले, सेबी ने फरवरी 2025 में ब्राइटकॉम ग्रुप और इसके प्रवर्तकों, एम. सुरेश कुमार रेड्डी और विजय कंचरला, पर कुल 34 करोड़ रुपये का जुर्माना लगाया था। दोनों प्रवर्तकों पर 15-15 करोड़ रुपये का जुर्माना लगाया गया और उन्हें पांच साल के लिए प्रतिभूति बाजार से प्रतिबंधित कर दिया गया। सेबी ने कंपनी को 2014-15 से 2021-22 तक की अपनी सहायक कंपनियों के वित्तीय विवरणों को अपनी वेबसाइट पर प्रकाशित करने का भी निर्देश दिया था, ताकि निवेशकों को सही जानकारी मिल सके।
निवेशकों पर असर
ब्राइटकॉम ग्रुप के शेयरों में ट्रेडिंग जून 2024 से निलंबित है, जिसके कारण 6.5 लाख से अधिक छोटे निवेशकों का पैसा फंस गया है। सितंबर 2023 के शेयरहोल्डिंग पैटर्न के अनुसार, छोटे खुदरा निवेशकों की कंपनी में 44.24% हिस्सेदारी है। कंपनी ने जनवरी 2025 में दावा किया था कि ट्रेडिंग निलंबन जल्द ही हट सकता है, लेकिन अभी तक कोई ठोस समयसीमा सामने नहीं आई है।
